I'm busy working two jobs and being a mom. I work full-time at the National Park Service in the Alaska Regional Office. We provide support to Alaska's 16 national park units. There, I am a GIS-Database Specialist. I am on the GIS team, but because of my database design and programming expertise, I spend a lot of time on non-GIS projects. I work with folks in the regional office and parks and I also participate in a lot of national efforts. In my "spare time", I am a part-time instructor for University of Alaska in the Geomatics department. I teach a couple sections of the introductory GIS course each semester.
When I'm not working, I can be found spending time with Syri, Vala, and Paul. I love to read, although my other priorities have kept me from buzzing through books like I have in the past. I also love to travel and cook and consider myself a recreational photographer (a great camera helps). We try to spend a lot of time outdoors year-round enjoying whatever activity is appropriate for the weather.
